Excel Learning partners with Texas Academy of Faith and Arts (TAFA). TAFA has been offering fine arts and academics to homeschool families with excellence for over 20 years. Excel Learning’s partnership with TAFA consists of core classes and special academic classes that allow homeschool students to experience a wide variety of courses that meet their interests.
Apologia Physical Science
This Physical Science course will explore our amazing Earth and the processes and laws God put in place when He created it. Topics to be studied include chemical processes, laws of physics, physical characteristics of the Earth and its atmosphere, and more. Lectures, discussions, hands-on lab experiments and other activities will fill the allotted class time. Best for ages 12-14!

Texas History
Texas, Our Texas! In this course we will survey the political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Texas from the pre-Columbian era to the present. Themes that may be addressed in Texas history include: Spanish colonization and Spanish Texas; Mexican Texas; the Republic of Texas; statehood and secession; oil, industrialization, and urbanization; civil rights; and modern Texas. This will be a great class as we explore everything Texas! Bring the salsa, tacos, tamales, queso, and jalapenos! Texas proud!

Saxon Pre-Algebra
Pre-Algebra is an introductory course that develops foundational mathematical concepts and skills necessary for success in algebra and advanced math courses. Some topics that are covered are: Prime and Composite numbers, fractions, decimals, order of operations, exponents, square roots, ratios, probability, coordinates, algebraic phrases and more. The class will emphasize problem-solving and critical thinking skills, helping students to develop their ability to analyze and solve problems using mathematical methods. Best for students 12-14 years!

Empowering students through active engagement & relevant resources to successfully prepare them to reach future goals & have a dynamic college career. Course work consists of the differences between AP courses & Dual Credit, creating a stellar resume, financial aid & scholarship information, importance of community service, money management & leadership skills, writing skills, goal setting, skills & strengths inventory, successful decision making, planning for your major, soft skills development & more! This class is best suited for students in the 9th-12 grade. This class will meet monthly.

Effective Study Skills
Teachers and parents tell their kids to do it, but we often don't tell them how. Studying is a skill in itself. While there are many strategies and techniques to studying, we'll unveil the most effective ones. Great study skills reduce anxiety, lessen frustration, and boost confidence! Help your student prepare for all types of exams by learning the study skills that will help them succeed.
Phonics for Pre-Schoolers
Exploring Multiple Modalities for Teaching Preschoolers Phonetics throughout the Day. Moms may bring their preschoolers and use this as a teaching time!
SAT Prep Course
This is a 3-week SAT prep course for the March 11, 2023 test. Classes will include Reading/Test-Taking Strategies, English/Grammar/Mechanics, and Math.

Dyslexia is a common type of learning difference in children, as well as adults. Learn how to recognize signs of dyslexia and how to help your student when they are diagnosed. Learn also how to advocate for your student - whether they are homeschooled, in private school or public school.
